Bandwagon fans pretend to be full fledge die hards when a team is winning and a casual fan watches without much emotion vested good or bad.

Okay, I was going to admit to being a bandwagon Hornets fan, but I think I'm more of a casual fan.

I honestly only care about them in they're winning, but I never pretend differently.

Ya, winning brings out the hot chicks. Its then cool to be seen there. Not all bandwagoners are bad though right?

Yeah, I wasn't making a value judgment either way.

casual fan = fairweather fan of a specific team

I consider myself a casual fan of LSU. I've paid my dues going to games in the Hallman and Dinardo eras, I watch all the games I can now, but I don't read the rant or even the advocate much unless they are doing well because I prefer to devote my finite football time to the Saints.

bandwagon fan = person that derives self esteem from being a fan of the flavor of the month

Bandwagon fans are the people who have been chicken littling the board lately. A casual fan would just quietly go back to their life when they lose interest, a bandwagoner has tied too much self esteem to the former flavor of the month and lashes out viciously.

i think a bandwagon fan is much more of a fairweather fan than a casual fan.

casual fan doesnt become emotionally attached either way

whereas a bandwagon fan becomes emotionally attached when they are winning, but is indifferent when they are losing

A true bandwagoner moves on and looks elsewhere, when their current team is loosing.

These are the only ones I really look upon with disdain.

I think a casual fan is someone that like a specific team but doesn't live and die with that team. If they get more excited about that team when they are winning it doesn't mean they are a bandwagon fan.

A bandwagon fan is just someone that picks a team to like solely because they are winning.

I love the LSU Tigers, but I know when we suck.

My dad is a casual fan. He can't tell you who is on our schedule, or who is in our division or what division we're even in. He puts the game on on Sundays when he remembers, but otherwise he's not upset if he misses the game. He only knows who a few players are. He doesn't follow the team news except if I'm over there and the game comes on, he asks what's been up. He's excited if the team wins, but if we lose, nothing really changes in his life.

Bandwagon fans hook on to whichever team is winning at the moment. People with LeBron or Manning shite who aren't from that team are examples.

Most of the Saints "bandwagon fans" are a not really bandwagon fans but a little bit of both--casual fans turned die-hard for this one season.

i completely agree with this statement

winning definitely brings more interest from the casual fan, BUT i think most of these fans have some interest in the saints even when they are losing

I'm not sure where I come in when it comes to the Saints. I mean, I go to most of the games, and I cheer my arse off, but they are only my second favorite team.

Either way, I'm not offended by any label someone puts on me regarding my Saints fan status.

casual fans tend to either not be big sports fans, not be from La, or have stronger loyalties to a different team or school.

Bandwagon fans tend to be chicks, younger kids, or black guys.
