Avoid the GM 2.4L 4cyl at all costs

I think those have been gone for awhile. They went to a small turbo 4 cylinder, 1.5L or something like that.

My previous vehicle was a 2011 GMC Terrain and current vehicle is a 2020 GMC Terrain. These are the equivalents of Equnox's by Chevrolet. Both of my Terrains have been trouble free. Spent money on gasoline, oil changes, tires, and batteries only. I had to purchase my 2020 model due to someone rear ending me and totalling my 2011 Terrain. I had been planning to keep the 2011 model for a few more years had it not been totalled in the rear end accident.

If I am getting a car this boring, I would at least get best in class. Toyota, Honda, mazda all have better options. Even the GMC will have a little better finish.
If you are looking for straight up value, it may be a good option if you find a great deal, but just temper your expectations and acknowledge you bought it for value.
The problem with the low bottom half of any vehicle class is the resale value kills buying power. The extra you pay on the front end for a Toyota always comes back. The longer you keep it, the less this matters (but may not may not be offset with maintenance costs).

Newer ones are pretty good but boring. The new models look very nice.
On par with the Rogue, but with a better transmission. IMO not as good as the CR-V.

We had a 2020. It was a fleet car, and it felt like it. LIke GM knew nobody had a choice to drive these. So they don't care too much about making the interior inviting or quality-feeling. I don't imagine much has changed.
Unless you really dont care about cars and intend to beat the snot out of it (or get a screaming good deal), move on.
