And on cue, dems will stand up and scream “Bot’s are people too! Elon is denying Bots education!”

Soon you'll have AI "professors" "teaching" AI "Students" in online Colleges

Are they not verifying enrollment information before they dole out thousands of dollars in grants? Seems like they could confirm that they name and SSN match up or something along those lines

In Cali all are welcome. Even the undocumented

They’ll soon be demanding an AI lounge on campus.

How the hell does that even work?

Higher education in this country needs an absolute ground up rebuild and revolution. It has turned into a scam more or less.

I though it was racist in California to ask for an ID?

Also, couldn’t the IRS also verify incomes and parent information?
Or does the Pell Grant system just dish out based on what random information you put on a FASFA, if I knew this 25 years ago, I would have put zero for all income and expected a nice check for tuition in addition to TOPS which fully paid tuition and fees back then.

The fact that institutions, i.e. Havard, get public funding while having billions in endowments is criminal. Tax the shite out of them if they receive any federal or state $$$.

It’s now automatically pulls tax info from the IRS. With few exceptions, people can’t manually input information anymore.

A lot of the scammers are using personal information such as SSN and DOB from hacks (looking at you Louisiana DMV), so the information on the FAFSA and admissions applications match.
Where they maybe could try to mitigate this is at the point where money pays out. Institutions have to verify attendance or academic participation for federal money to pay out, but that’s also one of the the points the article mentions (specifically the scammers submitting AI generated coursework). If the school is online or is only relying on a student submitting an assignment online as verification of academic participation rather than taking physical attendance, that’s an assumed risk since you can’t see the student themselves submit it. It’d be much cleaner for community colleges to rely on physical attendance or in-person assignments to reduce this type of thing, since fewer scammers are going to take the time to sit through multiple classes pretending to be someone in order for the money to pay out.

I foresee a future where in person interaction returns to being absolutely necessary for many aspects of business and transactions, which is extremely ironic given it will be driven by our advances with technology.
It’s already getting to the point where remote work is becoming questionable from an IT security perspective. If AI advances to the point where it can perfectly, or nearly perfectly, mimic a specific person in a video call, how can you ensure you are communicating with the correct person? Scary stuff in the future.

This has been going on for at least 10 years.

Anyone using AI is either willfully ignorant or willfully destructive.
This shite is out of control.
