So you weren’t the least bit phased by covid but you were fully supportive of being forced to do stupid shite like wearing a mask to walk around but not when sitting. But if left up to you, you had zero concerns about spreading it when a rule didn’t apply?
I did what I was required to do to go out to eat.
I also had to wear a mask to attend Cedar Point and ride roller coasters.
I thought it was pretty reasonable to open the park up and require masks, much more reasonable than the previous policy they were transitioning from, which was shutting the parks down completely.
when weighing what is reasonable, less restrictions always seemed to be reasonable to me. we shut down everything before we had info on what to do, then reason stepped in and eased those restrictions.

From the way you post, you must have been in elementary school during Covid.

I’m not afraid to say Covid scared the shite out of me for the first month or so.
My wife was pregnant with my first child. I felt like I couldn’t get a solid grasp on what was going on. Conflicting information everywhere you looked. We live out in the middle of nowhere so that was a relief in those early days but I had a buddy, a cop in decent shape, who spent weeks in the ICU. Older folks were dropping like flies.
My biggest concern was for my wife. How would a Covid positive pregnancy look. Her OB put us at ease and reassured us that she thought the risks were no worse than the average population. After they shut the schools down I started to get suspicious.

I get that some of you think it's "cool" to say there never shouldve been any restrictions, but as other posters have pointed out, noone knew wtf was going on at first. Trump closed everything for 2 weeks so he could get more data, and then everything loosened restrictions over time. we didn't go from restaurants being open to required masks while standing and being taken off while eating.
we went from restaurants being closed indoors to restaurants being open but wear a mask until seated, that was an improvement.

Unless you lived in a state with a governor who was a dem. frick John Bell and even more, LaToya.
My daughter graduated high school and could do nothing. Thank goodness for Florida, we got to use a friends condo early that summer and go have a nice time with our family.

My last day in the office, until I resigned, was around March 15th, 2020.

George Floyd BS happened in late May and June. We knew a lot more by then. I'm talking about the very initial weeks. Early March to early April. Those were very uncertain times. If you say you knew it was fake then, then you're either a liar or dumb.
Yes, a deadly “mystery virus” suddenly popped up 9 months before the presidential election when one of the most hated people in the world, who they spent 3 years and multiple hoaxes trying to force out of office, was seeking re-election. Then, literally everything they were sky screaming about on TV ad nauseam wasn’t playing out in any semblance of realty when you walked outside.
“Uncertain times” in your mind perhaps. Some of us knew what was going on from the start.

Thank God that didn’t happen a few weeks earlier before the football National Championship game.

Folks were really mad at Rudy Gobert for touching the mics.

No, just salty. Had to send my youngest kid to school with a face diaper for his first two years of school and barely got to see my grandmother in the last year of her life because of all that ridiculousness.
Frick Covidians with a razor spiked dildo.

There are still folks on this board who believe Pfizer knows what’s best for them.

I have declared Alabama as the 2020 sec tournament champions, for they were the last team on the court when the tournament was ended.
No doubt, another dubious championship claimed for the tide.

Everyone was concerned because of the uncertainty surrounding how COVID spread and why it was so deadly.
Covid had highest death toll of any single event in US history. Over 1 million dead Americans. Easy to see possibility of death toll exceeding 10 million if not for initial lockdowns and getting vaccine available so quickly.

You mean you couldn’t figure out how the common cold was transmissible?
Does the common cold kill over a million Americans? I get the pleasure of getting to say “I told you so” (I’m getting used to it with Trump’s current shite show), but let’s not pretend covid was just some seasonal flu. A lot of American families were impacted. It’s incredibly sad and pretty inhumane of you to minimize the deaths of millions around the globe.
