80 IQ vs 100 IQ vs 120 IQ

Could one of you explain the difference in a way that I may be able to understand?
I've heard that 80 is a moron and 100 is average high school grad. 120 to 100 is simply the difference between a high school graduate vs a college graduate.
Maybe I don't understand fully what a moron is, but the difference from being mentally retarded from a high school graduate seems like a larger gap than that between the HS grad vs College Grad.
And then those with 140 IQ have the same respective perception of intelligence of the average college grad that a High school grad has to that of a retarded person.
It just doesn't seem linear, is it not?

I have an IQ of 88, so no, I can't explain the differences. Some people sure are confusing, though.

I've known plenty of college grads that have 80 IQ's. Think the metric is kind of skewed

I liken it to the perception of being in different dimensions.
For example, if you're in the 1st dimension you are not aware of what is happening in the 2nd dimension. Same as you being in the 2nd and not knowing what's going on in the 3rd.

What I'm tryin to say is, the course of your life is changing right in fron of you, and you don't even see it...

ie.80= mouth breather, can't spell school, can't multiply 9 * 11., etc
100= average blue collar worker
120= average accountant.

The average IQ is 100. It is not a set value though from what I've heard. So a 120 IQ now is not the same value as 120 fifty years ago necessarily. 100 is always the median. Learned that on YouTube.
My GF tested at 134, which is insanely high. I took it and got 122. My main issue is I can not focus on anything anymore. I hear your IQ stays consistent throughout your life but I seriously feel dumb as hell sometimes.

Yes, but people who are accountants likely have a higher average IQ. So claiming 120 is an average for people in that field may not be all that far off.

I got a copy of my "permanent record" from school a while back. My IQ was tested three times (I dont remember taking any of them.) There was a 12 point differential from highest to lowest.

The vast majority of people have never had a real IQ test and are talking out their arse. I had several as a child and young adult as part of a long term learning study. A real test is a day long and involves a written test, verbal interviews, logic tests, spatial reasoning tests and other such things.
