580 glass lenses on Costa's are so much better than any lense Maui Jim puts out
I never wear my Costas because I'm 30, but when I do I'm always surprised at how good those lenses are. My eyes feel like they're open wider. That said, my blue Persol lenses are really great too.

Their style has gone to crap the last 5 or so years.
Seems to be a common complaint about sunglasses. Do they all shite the bed as soon as they get popular?

I have both Maui's and Costa's. The frames are better on the maui's but the lenses are better on the Costas.

A lot of the people wearing costas now are redneck and white trash.
Fact.
I am all in this thread...

I went to Maui Jim's feeling the same way as the OP and just switched back because the quality lenses just weren't there.
4 years ago wife bought me pair of Maui Jims, always took care of them, etc. After about 3 years the lens just cracked where it was screwed on. Called Maui and they said sorry it was out of warranty. I still wear them sometimes.
For Father's day wife got me a pair of Costa's with the 580 glass, I haven't been able to try them yet because I've been having an eye issue and haven't been able to wear contacts, but hope to try them out this weekend. I do like the fact that they have a lifetime warranty.
These are what she bought me...Costa Corbina, I might just exchange them.

Not only are Maui's great shades, you won't have that "high school kid driving a truck with a salt life sticker" look like you do with Costa.

I own a pair of Maui Jims and costas.
The Jims are much more comfortable, but despite the shite you see regurgitated around hear because it's in style, the costas have superior lenses, particularly for fishing.
Disclaimer, my costas are about 4 years old so I can't speak to any change in quality.
Maui Jims are great shades though.

Randolf Engineering. Don't buy plastic glasses.

This board will tell you that they're trashy; but, believe it or not, Oakley makes some of the best products on the market

Virtually all sunglasses in the world are made by the same 2-3 companies.
It's more about how they make you feel than how they actually are. Seriously.

Just get some Native. Owned by the same company that produces Costas but they're actual "sport glasses" that you can wear anywhere. Most are vented, easily replaceable lenses, Great quality, awesome fit and look good. I don't think I could shake mine off my head.
Probably not Southern chic, but skiers and mountain bikers, etc out West have worn Native for a long time.

A guy I know in NOLA started a sunglasses company, krewe du optic, they fit great as well too. I'm sure they are to trendy for many in the OT though.

I have all kinds of sunglasses but, to be honest, the ones with the best lenses are my Polaroids.
