Tell me you’re not divorced without telling me you’re not divorced
That’s pretty common language in most custody agreements, but it has no teeth and isn’t really enforceable. No matter how amicable a divorce is, someone is always gonna make a comment here and there about their ex. That’s life.

That will teach him to rise up out of obscurity and improve his family’s standard of living.

And the crazy part is, she has never worked a day in her life. Their kids are twins and I'm guessing by now at least 16 or 17 years old and they were raised by a live in nanny named Olga. I think carolla likes Olga way more than he ever liked the wife.

their kids will be 18 in a few months, why does he need to pay child support?

Does he really make that much from his podcast??
Dude, ive been aware of who he is for almost 30 years.. Loveline, Man Show and more.. you dont hang around that long in showbiz, generally speaking, without making great money.. he actually has a really good video he did of how the money he made changed once he got into comedy; like he actually shows his SS statements from the 1990s where he goes from making $18k doing manual labor, then 2 or 3 yrs later he’s clearing $700 or $800k per year.. it’s hilarious and eye opening, ill try to look it up .
Here ya go.. couldnt find the video, but the audio’s pretty funny
Carolla income by year

Alimony needs to have a time limit. Like 3 years max and only in cases where one spouse had left the workforce after marriage to be a stay at home parent. Its bullshite to have to pay alimony indefinitely. Definitely incentivizes the spouse who receives the alimony to just date without ever getting remarried so they can keep collecting from their ex

This is the part that’s infuriating. He started from nothing and made something of himself. She made nothing of herself and is somehow entitled to half of his something. There is an epidemic in this country. An epidemic of gold digging whores.

That clause seems stupid.

I am divorced.. what i also am is the child of a divorce where both my parents constantly talked shite about the other, and as a kid it really sucked for me.. im sure a psychologist would have a field day, and it’s ancient history- but just becuase YOU are incapable of not talking shite about ur kids’ mother around them - doesnt mean everyone is that undisciplined and petty .

“That’s life” is about the most lazy phrase you could have used.. might as well have just said “It is what it is”… Lazy .

California has the most biased divorce court system in the world. It’s completely rigged against the husband.

18 now. 19 this summer, if your date is correct.

Splitting half the assets is whatever after being married that long, but why is spousal support still a thing in 2024?
The mean but honest answer?
Because enough women want to have their cake and eat it too.
They want to attach to someone who makes a comfortable amount of money, so they can be a SAHM, which they freely choose to do. And while doing that does have its ups and downs, it’s sure as hell less stressful than trying to raise kids with two working parents.
And much of the “stress” in that capacity is that most of the responsibilities and expectations are self defined, so time management skills erode to nothing.
Then when they leave, they essentially play the victim lamenting what they could have done in their careers if they were unimpeded, and demand compensation accordingly.
Why is it always based on husbands earnings rather than attempt to even crudely project their own marketability, I don’t know.

Because if they retain residency at home, child support gets extended a few years if they go to college.

From listening to the show over the years, my guess is that the boy Sonny goes with Corolla and the daughter stays with the mom. He is close with the son but rarely talks about his daughter.
