Remember last year for the Dynamite after Mania when the main event was a member of the Rhodes family vs a Samoan named Joseph? Now we've got a rapper causing the champion to get beat up. Great booking as usual.
Show looks pretty bad from what they've announced.

WWE brings in Travis Scott. AEW brings in a guy who hadn't been relevant in decades.
From what I've seen so far it's like someone said nothing can be worse than the main event of Night 2 and Tony responded "Hold My Beer".

That angle to start the show flopped hard but it was off to the races afterwards. Young Bucks rolled back the clock and went for it tonight. Their match with Mike Bailey/Kevin Knight was fantastic.
Great crowd compared to last time. Our card was infinitely better.
That’s too much to ask the crowd to handle Collision too. Half the people were gone by the end. 4 hours of TV wrestling is a lot.

I was sports entertained by the MJF/Hurt Business bit. I'm thankful that I could fast forward through the rest.
Who in the help thought it was a good idea to hold a tournament setup to have the semifinals a month before the finals? That's can't be defended. If the Martha (let's be honest, Owen would bitchslap her for putting his name on this) Hart Cup is so prestigious, you don't need a month of build. Or you use it to settle the winner of a program. You don't have two random arse people win their semis to set up the match. (Unless Tony is planning to steal the Jade-Naomi booking idea.) But then why not just set that match up to begin with?

Assuming you were there live, were there lots of empty seats to begin with?
AEW is so lacking in star power, I can’t imagine making the effort to attend this.

I was there with the wife and two kiddos. Both my kids had a blast, chomping at the bit to go back again next time they come around. I went last year when they came to UNO as well. They had a bigger crowd for this show than the last time. Obviously not anywhere near a sell out, they’d never come close unless it was for like a PPV. But all in all, it was a decent sized crowd, both a little bigger and a little hotter then last time. Only complaint was it was a little long, with them taping two shows. My youngest couldn’t hang and we left probably around the middle of the Collision taping.

That’s cool; I’m glad y’all had fun.
I’m a lifelong fan, and bringing my daughter to her first show when AEW first came to UNO was a really neat experience.

Another charm for the New Orleans brand

They had a corner of the arena chunked off basically. Honestly, only a slight uptick in attendance from last time. Better show, more engaged crowd,
Idk why wrestling fans want AEW to fail so much. It’s so much better for the wrestling business when the wrestlers actually get paid and have to compete with each other. Don’t worry. What do you think will happen if they go under? Wrestling will suffer. You can tell it matters to the wrestlers, and they know it. It should be supported.
They’re never going to catch WWE. Ever. People should be hoping they stay relevant enough to push WWE so we don’t go back to Cena Sucks level content as the only wrestling out there.
I’ve been watching current WWE. Last night was a blast, people went home happy. Quit hating so much. Damn.

AEW PPV crowds tire at a 4 hour show. I couldn’t hate on those that left early on a Wednesday. It was a lot to ask of the crowd to do Collision there too. As a wrestling fan, it was fun to get 2 bonus hours of actual stars wrestling, but I’d be shocked if they did that again. Half the crowd was gone and the rest were dead for a great FTR/Undisputed Era match.

AEW tends to do really long shows for some reason. I think they might sell more tickets if they cut some of the fat and made the shows shorter. ROH could be filmed at a high school gym in Jacksonville instead of at the Dynamite and Collision tapings.
I've always heard their local promotion was really bad too. I saw ads on facebook for the show but they need to Sting or one of the current stars to record some ads for radio/tv to air in the local markets.

Jeez, dude. I didn’t think I was being that harsh.

Wasn’t necessarily aimed at you. The comment about star power is odd to me when a 4 year AEW castoff is walking around WWE as champion.
There were literally people aggressively talking shite on AEW on the way in to the arena to the people that looked excited. That’s what we’re dealing with here.
