Annual JonBenet Ramsey Theories Thread

This case has always been very interesting to me and it's pretty unbelievable that it has not been solved yet with advances in DNA technology.
Theories:
Intruder Theory:
I think this is the second most likely theory, but still struggle to believe that she was killed by an intruder.
Evidence in support:
- Two unlocked entry points in the basement.
- Unknown boot print found near basement closet where her body was found (there's speculation that this may have been one of the first responder's boot prints)
- Unknown male DNA found in JonBenet's underwear, under her nails, and on her long johns.
The unknown male DNA is really the strongest evidence supporting the intruder theory, and it's pretty shocking to me that this unknown DNA has not been matched ala the Golden State Killer.
Burke Theory:
I think this theory is the most likely. The theory goes that Burke woke up in the middle of the night and made a bowl of pineapple. JonBenet came downstairs and a fight ensued. Burke struck her in the head with a blunt object and the parents covered it up.
Evidence to support:
- medical examination of body suggests that blunt force trauma to the head occurred 45 minutes to 2 hours prior to strangulation.
- pineapple was found in JonBenet's digestive system and it matched the pineapple found in the bowl in the Ramsey kitchen.
- Ton of evidence suggests the body was staged.
- Fiber from Patsy's jacket was found on JonBenet's clothes, on the chordage used for the ligature, on the chordage used to tie her hands, and on the duck tape placed over her mouth.
- Handwriting experts never were able to dismiss the possibility that Patsy wrote the ransom note.
It's tough to say definitively one way or another what happened. The unknown male DNA and evidence of a sexual assault suggest an intruder, but the ransom note is very odd and this doesn't explain how the blunt force trauma would have occurred 45 minutes to 2 hours prior to the strangulation.
I still lean towards the Burke theory. I don't think Patsy and John killed their daughter on their own. If they ultimately strangled her, I believe they thought she was dead and did it to cover for Burke. But this does not explain the unknown male DNA.

I believe this was 100% not the parents or the son. I listened to a podcast this week that had two detectives that worked on the case that said the DNA and the STUN GUN marks on her back is strong evidence along with the paracord and black duct tape.

I listened to those episodes as well, and that investigator has been pushing the intruder theory since the start. I agree that there are some pieces of evidence that points to an intruder, but that doesn't explain the blunt force trauma and the weird ransom note.
Everything used was tied to something already in the home (the pen and pad for the ransom note, the broken paint brush handle for the ligature). They never were able to find the matching chord or duck tape. But why would an intruder show up with duck tape, and chord, and a stun gun and then decide to write a ransom note if he went their with the intention to kill her? Even if the motivation was purely sexual assault, why the ransom note?

There is no way anyone else besides someone in that house killed that young lady.
Probably a terrible accident that was covered up.

I thought maybe the brother did it, possibly not intentional, and that the mom tried to cover it up for whatever reason. I believe the note was matched to the mother's handwriting. Such a bizarre story.
The note was way too weird to not be someone on the inside. However, that's just an opinion.

The creepy brother did it and the parents tried to cover it up. Then boulder police Barney fifed the shite out of the crime scene.

Somebody the other day just said that Kate Perry is Jon Benet Ramsey. Does that count?

Never really got into this one.
Was there a policy on her? What were the benefits of the parents killing her? I’ll assume the brother probably got treated differently. I think it would be a lot of risk for a stranger to do this at a home.

Can you tell me why, with all the advances in genealogical DNA, that they have not run the remaining DNA sample through that process??
I understand that the remaining sample is small and if used, may be the last shot at DNA. But it ain't doing shite sitting there in the evidence room.
Risk/Reward. Take the shot and do the genealogical testing. That will more than likely get you the suspect.
Am I wrong?

Same here. I too listened to a podcast about the investigation into her death, and the Boulder investigators should be charged with a crime. They were bungled the investigation from the get-go and leaked false information to the press to cover their tracks. I cannot fathom the pain of losing a child, but having a whole nation believe I was capable of brutally murdering my child would be more than I could bear.

Idk about an insurance policy on her, but her parents were well off. I don't think they did it for financial gain. I don't think they intended to kill her. I think the brother hit her and they thought she was dead or would die and staged it to cover up.

The DNA could have come from anywhere unrelated to the crime and during the time the FBI processed the samples their QA certification was seriously lacking.

the STUN GUN marks on her back
The “stun gun” marks that just so happen to be the same width as her older brother’s train track rail set. The one he stabbed her with?

I remember the ransom note sounding an awful lot like Dennis Hopper’s ransom from Speed, and the father had a framed Speed poster in his office. Just sayin..

Lol at anyone who believes the intruder/ pedophile theory.
You cannot begin to explain the ransom note if you believe this theory.
I don't want to hear it. No one, literally no one would strangle and kill a kid in the house, then stay around to write some long winded ransom note. In Patsy's handwriting.
