90-93 A-
94-96 A
97-100 A+

So what's a 96.55?

The plus minus system is mandatory. However the actual scales for each letter and plus or minus is up to each individual professor. So they set it up as they please. In your particular example, it would depend on the whether that professor rounds up.

I see what you're saying about the scale changing. But if that's the scale, then do they not round it? If they wanna get all nit picky with the 4.3s and 2.7s, then I will too

the standard is a 97 being an A+.

But I have many professors that alter that scale.

Ten years from now, out in the real world, it won't matter.

There should be no rounding involved

The standard scale is actually more like this:
97-100 A+
93-96.99 A
90-92.99 A-

Nothing. Just lists the scale. Sent her an email just asking if it rounds but no response

I listed the scale. The scale doesn't specify what happens in between 96-97

Ok, I could deal with that. But show me. And my syllabus doesn't say that. Here's the link to lsu's policy
