Pros or cons to level billing? I’m hoping it softens the blow of this summers electric bills.

I like it. A lot. I don’t see where there would be any cons. Your bill is averaged and varies slightly each month instead of huge swings in summer etc.

I do. It used to help but i feel like not so much anymore. All of their fuel and hurricane charges are added per kwh

Eta: I have a security light and they don't average those into the 12 month total

I do it. No complaints. I prefer the consistency.

I’d rather the relief of November with a really low bill.

Yep. My bill has been going up, but it's not drastic. $15 up this month.

Love level billing.

I did when I lived there. It was great. Had a bill within $10 of each other all year. I love the consistency.

I have it for my gas. I only use gas for heat and water heater. My bill this year has been 70 or more, last year with Levelized billing it was 40. I am not doing anything different.

This month it was $110.00

Absolutely do not do this. They precalculate at an inflated rate and do not adjust. Like a car note or taxes, never give out your money early

I did it in college and after college when money was tight. If you're on a really tight budget month to month with little cushion, it can make things a lot easier.

However, it basically takes the average of your last 12 bills, so you can basically end up underpaying or overpaying at any time. If you are using excess power, you might not notice it as much unless you are actively paying attention to your readings on your bill or on the online Entergy account management. Now that I'm older and have enough cushion in my finances that I don't have to worry about a high Entergy bill screwing me over, I'd prefer just paying the regular bill instead of complicating and obfuscating the situation.

I have levelized billing. Every summer Entergy levels me over the table and shoves it’s dick in my arse. Got my bill today. $485
