Biloxi shut it down pretty much. They tried to move to Gulfport and it was shut down there as well.

You still have small groups or whatever, but it’s not the gigantic clusterfrick it has been.

From the FB:

Look like Black Spring Break might be coming to an end. I’ve never seen so small of a crowd for this particular event. Black Spring Break had more Cops than Spring Breakers

“It’s dead this year,” said Antoine Taylor who travels down to Biloxi from Brandon for the event annually. Taylor says his family’s construction company owns a lot in the area behind Surf Style, which is across from the beach where spring breakers normally gather. In past years, Taylor says they’ve allowed spring breakers to park on the lot for a donation. This year, though, he says, no one is parked on the land.

Let’s be real — Black Spring Break gets treated like a crime scene EVERY. DAMN. YEAR. I dont know why yall even bother going to that beach. They got a whole 8PM curfew like we some damn criminals or kids just for being Black and outside. Meanwhile, during Cruisin’ the Coast or Scrapin’ the Coast, it’s all smiles and burnouts — drunk folks with glass bottles, wildin’ out with no curfew in sight. Literally out until the sun come up.
But when WE come out? The beach flooded with over 200 cops in tactical gear, walkin’ around like they at war. ASSAULT RIFLES for a beach event. Yea I know some of our people dont know how to act but it aint no different than any other event in Biloxi.
And watch — soon as this weekend over, the media gon’ drop their lil’ “look at the trash left behind” clip????????????? But they NEVER show the mess left at those other events. Never. The bias ain’t even hidden no more. I hate this racist arse state????????

Honestly I can understand that guy's point to a degree: he's probably thinking, I'm a young black guy, I have never broken any laws, it seems like black people are being singled out. He's thinking, I get that a lot of young black guys are involved in crime, but not me-- why should people look at me like a criminal? From his perspective it seems unfair that the event is heavily policed and a curfew is imposed.

I wouldn't like it either if I were him.

The flip side to that is that very unfortunately, there are lot of people who come to these events who are a danger to him and other people. And, the police presence and curfew still didn't stop him from being able to have a good time.

I might see a black person this weekend if I go to Winco. Otherwise probably not since it's wine tasting Saturday and then church on Sunday.

Yeah and he can google Biloxi Black Spring Break and read the "crime" reports from the past five years. It's a shite show and I can understand why the locals don't want them there.

And yes, it sucks that normal folks have to suffer because of the dumbasses.
My white son and all of his friends from local Catholic schools went to Pensacola Beach last year for their sr. trip. They knew it was going to suck and the cops harassed the shite out of them. It was comical with how bad it was. But the kids knew that's how it was going to be, so they made the best of it.

This is true. There were at least six retirees murdered at Cruisin’ the Coast in October of ‘24. Don’t even get me started on the Biloxi Oyster Festival, which is pretty much Mississippi Mogadishu.

Nah. Pre-Civil War some of them actually successfully sued to be not considered non-White, and thus still be able to vote.
