Wife and I looking at building in the middle TN area. One of the builders we're looking at is Drees which seems to be a big national builder. Anyone have experience with them?

Where in middle Tennessee? We have been looking at homebuilders in the Farragut, Maryville areas. I have not yet come across any homes built by Drees.

I'd start asking around at local hardware and building supply stores for good local contractors. Try your best to sub it out yourself. My general procedure is to hire one guy to do the slab and "blacking it in". Refigure your budget from there.
I can't imagine spending the money to turn the process over to a builder for a turn key place.

Never had one but they have nice communities in DFW. I always see them mentioned with Highland and K Hovanian which are quality builders.

Suburb of Nashville. They're expanding a new section of a well established neighborhood.
