Anyone have kids who are enrolled or attended University View Academy in Baton Rouge? Its advertised as an online charter school which enrolls students from around the state. Apparently the faculty operates from offices which are located in a former hotel on Valle Forge off College Drive. It has a huge faculty with teacher / student ratio of 22:1 for K-12 grades.

BATON ROUGE - The Foundation for Louisiana students, the University View Academy and UVA Superintendent Michelle Clayton were all sued in federal court earlier this month for alleged wrongful termination and discrimination.
The complaint was filed on April 14 in the Middle Louisiana U.S. District Court by Lincoln David Stress, a former special education supervisor at UVA.
Strauss was more than 60 years old at the time of his termination and accuses the defendants of firing him because of his age, gender and race in what Strauss called a "systemic purge of white males" out of the UVA faculty.
Strauss was replaced by a younger, less qualified female and four other colleagues were also, the suit says.
Strauss sues the defendants for Title VII Civil Rights Act violations and seeks back pay in damages.
The plaintiff is represented by the Carver Law Firm LLC of Baton Rouge.

What's with women's eyebrows? Do women airbrush them on every day, use adhesive tape strips or what?

They have several buildings around there. I always thought it looked kind of shady. Never many cars. Tons of security cameras. Blacked out windows.

I drove by there recently and the parking lot was overflowing at the former hotel facility. There is an adjacent building on Bennington which seems to be under remodel possibly so perhaps they are expanding.

The most unattractive thing ever on a woman’s face.

2nd most unattractive thing ever on a woman’s face. First would be awarded to a lit cigarette hanging out her mouth.

A friend works there and loves it, completely online and she only goes to the building twice a week. Everything else is done from her home. They have everything set up for the lesson plans and the teacher navigates and helps the students from how she explained it. The pay is better than avalerage as well she says compared to the public school that cut her position.

They bought a bunch of buildings off college: the old LABI HQ, the old Quality Inn, a bar across the street Penthouse Club, and the office building behind the Crown Plaza.

The headquarters are in Baton Rouge, it’s not part of EBR schools. It’s an online charter school open to any K-12 student in the state for free. Not saying it’s for everyone but it’s an option for some. It’s also like most other online schooling where you have to be disciplined to make it work. I personally wouldn’t send my kids there but I want mine in a brick and mortar with other kids so they can experience real life but to each their own.

My kid did 5/6/7 grade with UVA. Scored mastery or above in all leap tests for what that’s worth. Decided she wanted to go back to regular school for social reasons and is currently hating the schedule. But seems better prepared than most kids.
Keeping the kid on task was a pain in the arse. It’s not homeschooling because there are teachers. But you have to enforce them doing the work. Unlike regular school which is run like a prison.
