I've heard a few different pronunciations for Lafayette. How do you pronounce it? Which is the correct version?
1. Laughey-ette?
2. La-fey (as in Tina Fey)- ette?
3. Laugh - eye - ette?

Correct way is La-(f-eye-ette)
Regionally it will vary. The southern city is laffy-ette, the northern city and the General are La-fyette (even though the southern city is named after him).

Born and raised.
The only variance I ever heard growing up was whether the “y” was pronounced. So either:
Laugh-E-et
Or
Laugh-E-yet
