Watched them pop up amongst the first class/business class travelers as dudes were wearing them with jeans and a blazer on flights all the time back in 2019 really.
I typically pay attention to this (weird but IDGAF so whatever) because people in general-not always-dress for comfort when it comes to air travel.
Saw feedback that folks mentioned they ran a half size small. So went with a half size bigger and ordered online. Fit like shite but did feel super comfortable. Returned them and just never invested in another pair.
Fast Forward (or Rewind?) to 2021: Bought a pair of very expensive New Balance’s from the NB Store in BR in advance of a Disney Trip. They had me stand on the machine, watch me walk, then talk to me about my exercise and movement habits.
They matched me to a pair and gave me the custom memory foam/orthotic inserts. They did awesome in Disney.
Fast forward from that and I had an accident on my bike. Shoes got caught in the pedal and shredded the right one completely (it was a thin mesh material anyway). Brought them into the NB Store and asked if there was anything they could do.
Had me pull my inserts out and brought a new pair out from the back and took the shredded pair off my hands…and made a customer for life in the process.

Most uncomfortable running show I have ever ran in and returned them after one 6 mile run (2017 ish)
As far as a casual sneaker, they're ugly as hell but people sure do love things that are popular

I fricking hate these shoes. I found them to be incredibly uncomfortable and returned them quickly.

I loved line. Had three pairs of the exact same for running and then they changed something about them that hurt my feet. I went to brooks but want to try clouds again.

Same exact experience for me.

Are they worth the hype?
Good and very comfortable walking around shoes. Not good if want to do any real running.

Made by runners for runners

They are easy to get on and off and are very light.....
But they really aren't that comfortable and don't last that long.

Probably been said already but - sort of both. Good shoes for casual use. Terrible shoes for running outside one or two models. Running shoe stores sucker people into them left and right.

They are comfy, but mine fell apart after 6 months. would not recommend.

Took a lot of breaking them in.. was super tight at the top of my foot and for awhile They were fine then the back by my Achilles just disintegrated in the shoe and rubbed my ankle badly .
Threw them away after that

general consensus seems to be that they're comfortable as frick but wear out quickly and don't last long
Yes. I own two pair. One I wear daily, just to work and such. They’ve held up pretty well.
My other pair I wore more vigorously. They didn’t last long at all.
I’d buy another pair in a heartbeat. They might be the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. If you travel a bunch they are fantastic.

I've never had a pair of these...what exactly do you mean when you say they don't last or don't hold up?
Are we talking just look dingy and lose some of their spring, or actual holes in teh soles or other issues to the point that they literally are no longer wearable?

I can’t even imagine what kind of shoes people had on before Ons if they think those are comfortable. I guess if all you’ve worn was flops, Vans or Chuck T’s I can see where you’re coming from but I could walk into any running store and blindly grab as many pairs of shoes as I can fit in my arms and every single one of them would be more comfortable than Ons

Comfortable for as long as they last…which is not long.
