Audubon Zoo vs Aquarium: which is better

Which is better for kids? Would be going tomorrow.
Best time of day? Any tips? Have not been to the aquarium in years (when it was Aquarium of the Americas?) and never been to the zoo.
Any advice on either is appreciated.

You’re the worst king of New Orleans ever

Zoo is way better. Went on a field trip with my fifth grader. We went in October and the weather was perfect and all the animals were out. I assume spring would be nice. I was super impressed with the cafe we ate at for lunch. Massive portions (we had food left over we threw away). You could spend an entire day at the zoo.
The aquarium was a complete let down. Really small and took no time to walk thru. Very much a let down.

for starters, Aquarium is indoors...so if weather sucks, go there.
The zoo is more interesting, so if weather good, I would go there.

The zoo is much better if you want a long outing.

Zoo unless it is July or August

Careful with that zoo food. I ate a hamburger at the Audubon Zoo and just about died from food poisoning.

Not having to worry about parking makes the zoo better

Aquarium is great but Zoo is better for just being much bigger, spread out and feels like an adventure. Aquarium would be better for hotter days.

I don't know, I could stand in front of that Gulf exhibit for hours.

Close. The city of St. George.

Yeah I guess having to pull into a downtown parking lot or garage is too stressful for you.

The Zoo is better.
The aquarium is fine, but the renovation was a fraud. They added the insectarium, but the only "renovating" of the 30 year-old aquarium was to reverse the route through it.

Zoo has easy parking/access, will occupy more time for kids, and is a better value all things considered. The aquarium, while very nice, is a very quick experience and there really isnt that much to do or see for the price and parking battle.

I think the ideal use of the aquarium is if you’re in the area anyway looking for something to do for a couple hours along with some other things, like Riverwalk, French market, etc.

WHat age kids? For younger kids the aquarium is better. They can put their faces right up to the glass and see all the pretty fish. Its also quicker to get through and air conditioned.
For older kids, We liked the zoo. Lots of stuff to look at. Make sure you get there at 10:00 when it opens because the animals are a little more active in the mornings. Also if its above 90 degrees, you might as well not go cuz all the animals are sleeping in the shade or completely inside.
Don't stick your dick in the stingray petting pool. The rays don't really care but the employees do.
