Spent Thur and Fri on campus at Tuscaloosa for my youngest's orientation. My middle went to Auburn so we had that experience to contrast it to.

I couldn't get over the parents during each session. Came in late, talking with each other when a speaker was speaking, phones ringing, parents playing games on their phone, posting on FB and whatever else, texting. shite was so disrespectful. One hoodrat was watching a video on how to wax your eyebrows or do weave or some shite. One ole baw came wearing a OD Green wife beater, camo hat, and safety glasses. One mom asked about getting her daughters birth control filled at the on campus pharmacy. One guy asked about carrying pocket knives. My wife said "we didn't see that at Auburn".

The printed schedule stated on Day 2 we were gonna hear about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for about 30 minutes. Told my wife I wasn't staying to hear any of that shite but that must've got changed last minute because it didn't get covered. My wife is black anyway. Instead they had a Q&A with student volunteers - five fat black girls. So I got DEI'd anyway.

The UA Police spokesperson stated they had 92 police officers on campus - seems high - LSU has 60 according to their website. Biggest law related issues are: pot, booze, & domestic violence. The jokes write themselves.

Everywhere there were arse cheeks hanging out of these tennis skirts all the hot chicks are wearing. There were a few hot moms but the trashiness percentage overwhelmed them.

So what makes this a unique experience at Alabama? Come visit a college in La orientation. Or better yet, come experience a dorm move it day.

I'm sure LSU orientation is chock full of classy folks where none of that would go on.

Toured a bunch of SEC schools this summer…but didn’t go to Bama. Auburn was nice though.

Why are parents paying to put their kids in that environment?

I have taken a lot of heat for this, but 80% of people in colleges do not need to be there.

That was pre-covid. Times are different now and a lot worse. Smartphones and the latest apps are literally killing our society.

Auburn has a nice enough campus but the predatory towing going on in that dump of a town is despicable.

I imagine things don’t change much in the coal fields of Kentucky, but in every big city, good taste and presentability has taken a backseat to trashiness and comfortability.

This country has really upped the “trashy” factor in the last few years.

Parking was nutty all over, we didn’t get towed but paying on different apps in each town was a PITA.

Everyone says Gainesville is terrible, but we liked the campus. Arkansas is nicer than I expected.

I get what you're saying. I worked for a company with millionaires all around me that didn't go to college because they got lucky by working for and sticking with a company that gave ESOP out in it's early days. They became massive.

I can only speak for me and mine. My oldest didn't go to college. My middle went to Auburn got a degree in what she was interested in and is working in that profession. She's good at it. My youngest also has a field is he pursuing and would be good at that. He's also sharing the burden by working since he was 16, got some scholarship money, and also taking appropriate loans. He will also have a job during school.

Do you have kids?

Nah.
And like a lot of schools, many of the low IQs will weed themselves out after the the first year.

Are you complaining that the college you are sending your kid to has too many police officers? And you want them to model their police system more like ones in Louisiana? And you are surprised that a colleges biggest problems are drugs and violence? We’re you expecting them to say the biggest law related issues were murders and jaywalking? This whole paragraph has me really confused.
