Bathroom Remodel - Glass door with "Showerguard" glass or not?

The high-end glass shop was trying to deter me from springing for the showerguard because he says they likely would not honor the warranty in southern LA due to the type of water here.
Anyone here opt for NOT using the Showerguard glass, and do have any issues with keeping spots from forming with daily squeegee-ing?

i'd always buy whatever warranty bc of our water... you ain't going to keep spots off from squeegee'ing.

I would get it. I work in a glass shop and I don't know about the warranty issue, although I'm in MS. I have a different coating on mine and it definitely requires way less cleaning than a standard glass.
I think the main thing with the showerguard warranty is to make sure you go on there website and actually register it when you get.

Does anyone know where to get water tested for silica, magnesium and calcium levels?
Showerguard said that the levels determine the frequency of cleaning (which we'll probably do anyway) but it would be good to know how hard and often I'll be expected to deep clean it to keep spots off.

I did showerguard. Quite honestly, the glass still had residue. If I were to do it again I would say skip it. If you do it, I think Showerguard has some rebate that will save you some money. Also, I negotiated a lower price with the installer. It's not a scam, but its not worth it IMO.

Thanks, I found the $25 rebate.
How often do you clean yours?

Squeegee after every shower every time. Not a single spot on mine. Every couple of weeks I'll speaker the frame with some shower spray stuff. One year in and looks great.

We just did ours out of diamond instead. Never even cleaned it once.

Clear glass is pretty important I guess.
