It was next to Bennie's car wash. The building is now a fitness expo. This was in the late 80's.

Yeah this was the one I was thinking of. I remember alot of people in my classes and teams from Broadmoor would go. I couldn't think of the name. Pretty sure some shootings shut it down if I remember correctly.

As always, I read the entire BR nostalgia thread and, again as always, nobody mentioned Bono's Pizza. Why am I the only person who remembers that place?

Acme Book store -- on Chimes St and also had a more upscale location at Bocage

Laurel Lea grocery

Vince's -- I lived near Laura Lea as a kid and went to the little store all the time. But I never ate at Vince's restaurant (too poor).

Vince Sotile's restaurant

Rax! (Bring it BACK!)

Godfather's Pizza upstairs Northgate -- practically lived at that place in college

Ground Pati was my spot with my dad. I don't remember if it was even good or not, but my Dad loved the hell out of that place.

If there were two locations and Chimes closed, then okay.

Silver Moon was in Tigerland across the tracks then moved to Chimes Street. Mama lost her lease there and moved to St. Gabriel.

That location of Silver Moon burned down and has not reopened.

She was selling food out of her house but I don't know if she still is.

Shing's!
A smart-assed friend of mine went there once and said he didn't want the buffet, he wanted to order off the menu. They had to run to the back and brought him some dusty-arse old menu.
Apparently, there was a rumor they were serving dogs and cats at the place. The owner called an Advocate reporter to complain about this and told the guy that he wanted the paper to run a story about they were serving real meat, not pets. The reporter was like "Uhhh, I don't think that's a good idea. You may just want to keep quiet about that."

They had a really good steak there at the Sherwood Location. Filet Mignon was like $12 and damned good in 1995.

Tallawah Lounge with Libby Cevelo and her massive breasts bar tending I knew her daughter. quote:Mushrooms from Whitters pasture I bet we know each other. We used to get them from Ford's Pasture as well.

John Mahaffey used to hang out there. Lisa and Randy were a little younger than me but we went to school together. Had another brother that is a musician.

Westminister Lounge
Stop N Go
Phil A Sack
Tune Up
Joe or Irvin Shaab tossing televisions off the top of the New Generation sign in their commercial

Lumm's Hot Dog's - boiled in beer
Burger Chef (and Jeff)
Rebel Drive Inn
US Drive Inn (or whatever it was called behind the old Troop A on Airline)

Downtown Airport (Independence Park now) I was sitting at the light at East Airport and Goodwood Blvd when the small plane crashed into the pine tree at Union National Life Bldg

Bon Marche' when it was open air and had the "Mini Mall" in the back. Had a small dark arse bar back there that City Police hung out in.

2001 on the other end of Bon Marche (few other things-can't remember the other names) Plum Crazy was out front and I think it was Cowboy's first from the Urban Cowboy movie day's I believe

Tara hung out at Burger King on Lobdell, Lee at McDonalds on Perkins and Broadmoor at McDonalds Florida and Sharp. We threw many eggs against one another

Dick Howell Realty, Rabenhorst and Marquis Bobcat baseball teams

Alan Risher has a restaurant upstairs in a building next to the old Louis on State Street called Hot Potat - sold only baked potatos, was good and didn't last long. Building no longer there.

A Frame International House of Pancakes at Florida Blvd around Donmoor and in University Shopping Center (before they changed to IHop) Had a black guy in a red dress rob it and ran off in high heels.

Little Italy Restaurant at Allelo Drive behind whatever that funeral home name was. Best pizza in town and not on the menu.

Joey's Restaurant out Florida - which was Joe Distafano's son. Both dead now.

Bread Basket Restaurant on Florida across from Miller Buick at Foster by Borden's Dairy and Alamo Plaza Autocourt

CYO dances at Sacred Heart, then later at the quansit hut off of Tom Drive (next to the "NEW" Leo's Roller Rink) they also had wrestling.

Ice Skating (and birthday parties at the OLD Leo's Roller Rink on North Street

Romano's Grocery with good plate lunches
Carlino's Grocery on Tom Drive - again good plate lunches and po boys

Athletic House again on Tom Drive - where you bought ALL of your team sports attire

The grocery store in Mall City - can't remember the name - there also was a good po boy place there across from Clegg's Nursery

Riding dirtbikes at the Fairgrounds (but before we could drive - the Tara/Old Hammond woods - which is now Old Hammond Highway Park

Sneaking into Baton Rouge Country Club on Monday's to fish (big bass) shoot squirrels with my Benjamin Pump 177 pellet gun (that I still have) and pull golf balls out of the pond

Riding the dirty dish conveyor belt at Piccadilly Westmoreland and my old man beating the shite out of me for it.

Going to Fort Walton Beach on the old road with the old man yelling "god dammit- put that window up. You are letting all the smoke out." as he lit another Salem

My mother bringing me to Fleur De Lis when I was 12 to pick the old man up on Friday night. Dropping me off, saying I had to be home in 30 minutes and leaving. My old man new when I walked in it was last call and his 12 year old kid was driving him home so he would give me a dollars worth of quarters for pinball and order another drink. When my games were up we went home.

Ascot Club and then later Pave' which the former was owned by Scott Fetzer and the latter Susan and Chip Strange.

The Wine and Cheese Shop and their bouisin balls every Christmas (which now you can get at Calandros)

Doing the BackPacker group ski trip to Aspen the week after Christmas for many years

I wanted a Bayou T-shirt for years and years and years. For Christmas this year, my wife went to Cafe Press and got me a reprint of one. It goes nice with another gift she gave me, a pair of Doc Martens.

What was the name of that pizza place on Staring, just past Perkins? It was a real good buffet back in the day.

I just happened to stumble on this

WBRZ News 2 ID montage promos 1983-2015

One hour and twenty three minutes of Ch 2 promos. I can't even begin to imagine why someone went to the effort of putting this together.

Anybody remember Juli Miller? She was a cutie

Where was that? I was trying to think of the one that was near Jefferson Terrace(Floynell?). It had seafood and boiled peanuts. Was a real shite hole. But we went often.

We used to go there when the drinking age WAS 18.

$5 cover and self serve keg of beer in the corner. Great place. Heard some great music in the 10 or so times I went.
