Are you a portly fellow?

Never mind it was just the jacket, reading is hard!

Tux rental businesses often sell older inventory at huge markdowns. I bought a tux once for dirt cheap at Royale Oak in Hammond and I couldn't tell it had ever been worn.

You could always lose weight.

Tuxedos to Geaux. They will take great care of you and have tons of options.

Most of the fashionistas I know just have a really nice black suit that they either "dress down" for regular stuff or "dress up" for black tie events. Its really "In" these days.
$150 wont get you very far with respect to that plan though as you cant even buy a nice dress shirt for such a paltry sum.
Planet fitness for 3 months is like $30 or so.
you have options at least!

Pre-owned on eBay. I’ve done this and was extremely pleased with the fit and the quality and appearance of the tux.

I picked a decent one up at Macy's a few years back. Under $200. Not sure if they still carry them or not.

Can vouch for Banana Republic Factory. Their stuff is actually great for the prices you pay.

Agree here. Plus, free alterations for life. At least until they run out of material to cover your fatass

You can go to Jerry Lees in Alexandria and get a tux, shirt and tie for like 650 or so, they will have it altered right away, takes a few days to get it all, pick it up and all are pressed and ready to go. Ive had mine from there for three years, this will be the fourth, so money well spent if I get 6-10 more out of it. May need a new shirt in a while. The most expensive part of it all was a 190 dollar bow tie got at another store in town, that thing is stored as if it is gold. I sent my wife to the store and said I needed a simple black bow tie, she came home with it, I saw the ticket and just giggled.

I got my tux at a Brooks Brothers outlet store. Was selling 2 suits for the price of one or something like that. Tuxedo was included, so picked one up. If you have one in the area, they do those deals often, so I'd check it out.

Try John’s on Vets. Actually I think it’s right off of Vets near Clearview.

Yep. They are not as expensive as you think.
I got one as a high school graduation gift and was like "WTF?!?!". Turned out it was nice to have for formal events.
I eventually grew out of it and bought one about 15 years ago at Steinmart for about $120.
Dillards should have a nice selection of Ralph Lauren, etc. if you want to go that route.

I just walked out of there 20 minutes ago. Bought my first tux. Easiest experience ever. $218 out the door for everything but the shoes (Vest, flat tie option).
