Best SUV under $50k?

The wife needs a new car. She wants a mid to full size SUV. Can any decent ones be had for under $50k that looks decent? She likes the boxy, rugged style SUVs.
Hyundai and Kia are out of the running, she refuses either.
I was looking at the 25 GMC Acadia, etc. She'd love a 4Runner but we're not OT ballers. She will keep this vehicle 10+ yrs, so something reliable..

From the recent thread about 4Runners
An SR5 could definitely be purchased for under $50k

So she refuses 2 of the best full size SUVs that can both be had for under $50k?
Get a slightly used Acura MDX. You should be able to find one under 30k miles from the 2020-2022 year range for around $40k.
You can send me the 10% finder's fee of $1k via check

Palisade and Telluride are both probably the best vehicles you can get in your description. I've met a few people that own both within the last 2 years and they love those vehicles.
It sounds like she already knows what she wants, but what is the reason she's refusing these two? They've come a long way in the last decade.

Whatever you decide, check the IIHS website for safety ratings. She's the most precious thing in your world.
Explorer is a decent choice, not sure of the current iteration's safety rating.
For a bit more you can get into an X5, five star safety rating.
The new Pilots have improved their rating, so that might be an option as well.

She should get a Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey.
You can thank me later.

I used to recommend those 2, but I'm not seeing good reliability from the latest models.

Ford Explorer ST-Line
Covert Ford 2025 Ford Explorer ST line
Has the ST look and interior but the 300 HP 4 cylinder ecoboost instead of the 400hp V6.

Bought a WV Atlas last year w/ 2nd row captains chairs. Very happy with it. Not as sporty as its competitors but more interior space and more comfortable.

That’s the best two SUVs under 50k

Yet Kia has higher reliability ratings than GMC.

She will keep this vehicle 10+ yrs, so something reliable..
A ten-year old X5 may well have cost an additional $50k in repairs (plus pain & suffering) over its life to keep it roadworthy.
Beautiful vehicles, best leased.
4Runner is the obvious answer here.

Get her the Toyota Sienna. It’s more useful and it’s what she needs.

Highlander
4Runner
Pilot
All of those will last 10 years no problem.
