Anyone have an opinion / recommendations one way or another?

For the price and quality, Tecovas are incredibly well made and are very comfortable when compared to Luecchese. No experience with Black Jack.

I have a pair of Lucchese and Tecovas ropers. Lucchese’s are very comfortable. Way more so for my feet than the Tecovas. No experience with Black Jack, but thumbs up for Lucchese. I don’t think you would be disappointed.

Why don’t you go try a bunch of boots on at a place like Cavendars? No one other than you is gonna give a shite what you have on your feet. But you have to pay for and wear them. Tecova, Luecchese, Justin, Ariat? They’re all a personal choice.

Neither of these pretentious boots.

Looks like O.J. is hiding a body behind him.

I have Tecova and Lucchese, and Tecova is very good for the $. That said, you're far, far more limited in leather options due to their model, so you get something that is well made but much less distinctive. And I'm not talking about ornate Lucchese custom options, even in basic ropers the gap is big (although at the cost of several hundred dollars).

I've had all 3. They are basically the same, especially Blackjack & Lucchese. Buy whatever leather and look you want. If more than one has what you are looking for, buy the less expensive.
Personally, for non-exotic leathers, I think you pay a premium for the Lucchese name.

I think the reason men wear cowboy boots is that they think it’s like getting to wear lifts without judgment.

Luecchese
I’ve worn a pair every day to work for close to 7 years now. I love them. Had them resoled twice.
No experience with Black Jack.

I am not familiar with Black Jack, but Lucchese Boots are about the best I have bought for the money. I have probably 5 pair in my closet right now.
Their relatively new work boot with the padded insole, and rubber bottom are almost as comfortable as tennis shoes and are tough as nails in the bullhide.
Ones like these I wear almost everyday - Casual/Work Boot

I have a pair of BJ Elephant boots custom made. With a coupon they were less than $600. To be honest though, my Tecovas are my favorite and most comfortable.

I have 2 pair of Lucchese an 1 pair of Black Jack. I’d take the Lucchese all day, everyday. Frankly, I haven’t found another boot that fits like Lucchese.

I don’t think Black Jack are as stylish as Luccessee but you can custom order different leathers/finishes. The last on Tecova puts the arch too close to the heel in my opinion. They kind of look like Mexican vaquero boots vs traditional western. Cuero (made in Mexico but sold out of Houston) are nicer than Tecova but run narrow. I also own some Cavender brand gator that are pretty nice.

Never knew one foot is slightly bigger than the other until I bought a pair of Luccheses - very precise fit and sizing. If you buy Lucchese’s, go try them on for size then shop online. I just bought a pair of black ostrich Lucchese’s at 15% off from Sylvesters. A couple days later I realized I could have bought them $110 cheaper online. Thought I was getting a deal.
Lucchese had them 32% off online.

I don’t think he was asking about looks, any grown man can figure out what he likes on his own. He was asking about comfort, and you sure as shite aren’t going to know how comfortable a boot is going to be by trying it on in the store.

Do those fit true to size or tight? I've been waiting on a Lucchese boot with a removable insole. I wear a orthotic, so I usually go up 1 size. Thanks
