I have business travel to Shreveport once a month. My travel days are M/T/W. I always stay at Margaritaville. Nice place and $80 a night. Don’t care about the casino but there are some decent restaurants there and other options next door. All the Interstate exit hotels are $100-$120 night

I wouldve done the exact same thing. Did we just become best friends?

Its not bad, especially if you got a good rate. Not my first choice for casino/hotels, but I'd stay there no problem.

Sounds like you're going to business/work, why the need to go slumming it?

No. It's fine. It's one of the lower level casinos, but still better than a Courtyard Marriott or something like that.
I think I'd prefer to stay at a newer Courtyard unless he's got a great rate. The newer Courtyards aren't half bad for business travel.
I was looking up reviews for the Shreveport Marriot because of this thread....but there isn't a Shreveport Marriot.
It's all their lower tier brands like TownPlace or Spring Hill.

Following directions is not known for the OT.

There is one under construction on North 70th in Shreveport.

I was in the area and saw the same rate. It can be a hassle getting to room as in all large facilities
But that’s a great rate

I travel to Shreveport for business and usually stay at Margaritaville. Rooms are clean and spacious. There's a Dragos restaurant. Decent sushi place right across the street.

Stay at the Horseshoe.
Had rates for 62 bucks a night with a river view when I was there a week ago.

Here’s why, duck head-
Boomtown is shite hole… it may even be the one with bathtubs in the actual rooms and a tattoo parlor as its main attraction.
Ive spent maybe a 100 nights in the SBC casinos over the last few years for work and I know the horseshoe is probably the best… so im just trying to randomly help some dude make a better decision.
Horseshoe averages about 50 bucks during the week, has good restaurants, clean rooms and the easiest parking garage to navigate.
Margaritaville is newer… the casino is probably nicer (I don’t gamble), but the rooms are bright to the point of being uncomfortable and it has more scum bags and degenerate gamblers loitering around… probably from boardwalk.
The casual restaurant on the Shreveport side suck, parking is a hassle… and it’s easier to get killed in Shreveport.
So sorry for helping- douche

Boomtown is a 3 star hotel. Horseshoe, Bally's, Margaritaville are 4 star hotels. Boomtown is not bad, not great, gets the job done. Will be safe. It's the least popular of all the shreveport casinos to go to.
Bally's, used to be El Dorado, is the most popular amongst upper middle class white frat guys in their 20s that want to be a degenerate for a weekend. At least in 2014-17, people went there to Celebrity Lounge or the gambling floor.
As for nicest hotel in Shreveport, The Remington Hotel is. Girard Butler, Ashton Kutcher, Kevin Costner, Jack Black, Michael Cera all stayed there as Shreveport has hosted a ton of movies. Almost up there with Nola at least from 2006-2012. Horseshoe, Bally's, Margaritaville Penthouse Suites are obviously going to be nicer than Remington, but Remington Hotel is unique in that it has specialized, non-cookie cutter hotel rooms stashed in a building built in the late 1800s. It's something that would easily cost $750+ a night in New York.

Boomtown meets your criteria. It's safe, quiet and close to the East Bank district. It's also next door to the under construction Live casino and entertainment project. If you've ever been to Texas Live in Arlington, you know what I'm talking about.

I don't know how much of your travel will involve I20 but it is a mess right now due to construction.

We stay at one of the hotels by Louisiana Downs. Pretty central area sans the crime.

Depending on where you will be driving to each day, this could make sense because of I-20 being under major construction from downtown Shreveport to around the Industrial Drive exit in Bossier City.
LA Downs is outside the construction zone and gives you ready access to I-20, I-220 (loop that bypasses the construction) and Hwy 80 that parallels I-20. If you stay near the river like at Boomtown, you are more likely to encounter I-20 construction issues.
