Bruce Willis' rapid deterioration...

Anyone else having a hard time with this? Poor guy is missing a tooth now and IG videos this morning show that the lights are on but hardly anyone is home. I grew up watching his rapid fire delivery on Moonlighting and he has been a favorite actor/celebrity of mine for quite some time. Disheartening to see the progression.

Dementia is a horrible thing that many people never see

One of his daughters posted an IG of his birthday party recently. He wasn't verbal but he was dressed, smiling, engaged with people and seemed to be having a good time. Obviously it's tragic but he's not bedridden and didn't seem to be suffering, at least on that particular day.

Awful to see. My favorite Bruce Willis movie is Blind Date. A comedy classic.

dementia is very rough not only on the person, but their loved ones as well.
my dad has been deteriorating over the last few years due to Dementia and Lewey Body Disease. some days he is coherent and with us, and some days he asks about his former step son from 20+ years ago, forgot who my wife is (forgot her name) and thinks he is still in Mobile (lives in Birmingham).
he is belligerent and says some truly hurtful things to my mom who is his primary care giver - it is hard to see him now and remember how he was.
Cancer is a motherfricker, but Dementia is up there as well.

Dementia is a bitch. One of the toughest parts of having a loved one with it is that you lose them twice.

Yea tooth missing, and stumbles awkwardly at the end. And if you've ever watched a video of someone with this condition, they literally just speak jibberish. They look confident in their speech, but it comes out almost nonsensical/inappropriately timed. Sort of like when he starts saying "just like that, just like that", not something that people generally say during a Happy B-day rendtion. Very sad.

Bruce's mother and mine were friends, both working at the same bank together in South Jersey when he was a teen punk rocker. I know, cool starry bra,
but it's tough to think how his life has gone downhill with the quickness.

yeah as it got worse with my dad, his balance got worse and went very quickly from a cane, to a walker, to a walker with wheels - and here soon a wheelchair. this is all in the span of a year or so. gonna build a ramp for the house, so we can get him in and out our house pretty easily.
i fear he will have to go into assisted living soonish, or possibly have my folks move in with my wife and I.

Idk that’s sad.
My estranged MIL passed away from some form of dementia. Even with her being estranged it was hard to see her go like that. Very very slowly. Over a period of 6 years or so.
Walker first then wheel chair then chair ridden then bed ridden
Talking to mumbling to grunting to nothing
It was tough to see

I watched his roast on Comedy Central a few years ago and thought he was more withdrawn and not as verbal as he had historIcally been, but at the time chalked it up to him wanting to be dignified or something.

Sad. Celebrities supply of baby blood never came back all the way after Covid
