Can you spot a 1/8 black person?

Here is a picture of Homer Plessy, who was 1/8 black. He apparently was passing as white with little suspicions until he deliberately told the conductor he was part black in order to challenge the segregation law.

I would have assumed that a 1/8 black person would look similar to an Arab, especially an Egyptian or Moroccan. However Plessy looks fully white from the photos of him. Although the white and black photo may not do the best job of showing his skin color.
