What’s the cheapest car insurance out there? The general is the cheapest I’ve seen so far. Anyone go with them?

I called around to multiple agencies and the prices were all close to the same.
In the end I just kept what I had

The General has basically been progressive the past decade... and no cheaper than progressive. Best price I have been getting is to requote with progressive every now and then, We got a $100 rate increase built up per month over the past two renewals... requoted same coverage for.. you wanna guess?? $100 less per month... They even keep all the loyalty when you switch from progressive to progressive.

I love when people reject UM coverage for lowest premium and then their attorney tries to argue they didnt make a knowing rejection. Idiots didnt have it in last 5 policies but yea they wanted it this time when they got in an accident. Plaintiff attorneys are awful humans.

Bro you don’t need the cheapest. Just like paper towels, pay a little extra and get with a company with liquidity.
As an aside, some of you folks who want to cut corners or gripe about insurance costs…insurance is a payment you should make and GLADLY know they are making a profit on your payment because the LAST thing you want is an insurance company to be struggling financially. Some folks don’t think that one through in all honesty.

As a former agent of 10 years, I can’t stress enough how important it is to carry UIM. I know that can be an aggravating charge on a policy but if the right things come together, as it did in my case getting a concussion along with my daughter by getting rear ended at 40mph sitting at a red light taking her to school by an uninsured driver…having that UIM is vital to a proper policy!

Isn’t it a shame we need uim. Having to pay extra for insurance because others don’t.
