Watching my local guy. Keeping an eye on that one around Okmulgee. It’s direction may have it skirt kind of close.

Thanks man. I appreciate everything you, Ravens, Legend do on here. We are not in the severe areas but the lightning strikes and house rattling thunder sure make it unnerving.

Are you out of the threat? The meteorologists have been at this since 9am. This has been a day. Damage all over the place.

Morris took direct hit. News on 6 spotter has a confirmed tornado on ground. Which I think it’s the same one that just hit Morris head on. I think that one May skirt just south of me.

Yep. Stayed south. Leading edge is now well past our house. So hopefully that means we are good. Seems all these are on the leading edge of this thing.

That one that came through Morris is still on the ground. Headed towards Wagoner, the 4A football capital of Oklahoma.

Fortunately I'm getting nothing but water and some stiff wind up here in the Osage. Hope this continues.

IXL's are freedmen towns built on donated lands from the tribes. There's several places in OK labeled with IXL, which supposedly stands for Indian Xchange Lands.

Still a lot of hours of this to go, good thing I'm a night owl.

Feel bad for Sulphur. Nice community down in that part of Oklahoma.

I’ve lived in Oklahoma all my life, know a lot of history, and didn’t even know what IXL stood for until now.

Sulphur is a beautiful city known for that sulfuric smell in the springs. Beautiful areas to walk. The Artesian Hotel is a nice getaway. Out west along the highway is the Bedre chocolate factory and that’s a fun place to visit.

Pictures coming out of Sulphur is heartbreaking. 2 deaths reported in Holdenville, one a 4 month old.

I’m with you, the Sulphur area is one of my favorite parts of the state. I was born and raised in southern Oklahoma. When we drive back to my hometown we always drive through there instead of taking I-35.

Sulphur park and Buffalo heard and Arbuckle fried pies are two things I never miss when I’m in that area of the state.

NWS Norman
@NWSNorman
Survey teams are out to investigate damage caused by yesterday's tornadoes. Other surveys are expected over the next several days.
