One of the few chain restaurants that never forgot that they made their money off of volume and not nickel and diming their customers to death.

That skillet queso is good.

Love the ceo discussion. No complicated algorithms or complex processes.
The secret was to just make their food better.

Go ahead and bring me that TRIPLE DIPPER.

But have they fixed the service in “most markets”?
We had a solid multi-year run in which we would go to Chilis across the Sourh and be told by the manager that they’re short-handed because of no-shows. One bartender and the manager would work the entire restaurant.
Markets exempt from this thus far are:
- Austin/Lake Travis Dam
- Atlanta/East Cobb
Thems are good Chilis

Our Chili’s south of Fort Worth has made a complete turn around in the past year. The town as a whole avoided it and now there is a wait most likely.

The Chili's in west Cobb recently went out of business because of those exact issues

My closest Chili's is fantastic, great deals on drinks and the "3 for me" keeps date night affordable.

There's definitely some local management issue going on at some locations. The one near my neighborhood seems to struggle to keep a hostess and when they have one she'll have one of two modes: bored or doing you a favor by being there.

Burger King needs to hire this guy
If Burger King could figure out how to make all their locations run well and be consistent, they’d rule over the fast food world.

It all boils down to the employees.
Know one reason why Publix is such a great supermarket? Employee profit sharing. Employees regulate each other and don’t want a frickup in the produce section.

You mean Popeyes.
Popeyes with Chick-fil-A operations would be insane.

Popeyes appears to be doing fine from a numbers perspective so the group that owns them could care less about service performance.

Burger King,
It is the people they hire.

I've noticed here locally that Applebees have improved over the last 3 years, with better food and better service.

Imagine what they could do though

Man, I wish he'd bring back that sirloin stack. That was the best deal they had, but took it off the menu years ago. I'd get a steak, smashed potatoes, and a corn on the cob for like $15-$18. Throw in some 2-for-1's and that was a solid week night.
