Got some for my wife last year for Christmas and we have used them a ton. Nice quality and they have been awesome.

Sent an email asking where we send the knives to to get them sharpened and they responded with:

quote:

Regarding your inquiry about lifetime sharpening, I must inform you that we no longer not offer a lifetime sharpening service for our knives. We understand how important it is to keep your knives sharp for optimal performance. While we can't provide the sharpening service ourselves, we would be happy to offer some recommendations on how you can maintain the sharpness of your Coolina knives.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the absence of a sharpening service and appreciate your understanding. If you have any more questions or need guidance on knife care and maintenance, please feel free to reach out. We're here to help ensure that your Coolina knives continue to serve you well.

Thank you for choosing Coolina, and we look forward to assisting you further.

Kind Regards
Mary from Coolina

I gave up on any kind of gimmicky lifetime sharpening service and bought a stone. I sharpen my own knives now with no wait

Gotta read the fine print. They’re just trying to stop the suckers from sending knives in.

Sounds like they do in fact still sharpen knives.

I use the WorkSharp Ken Onion Edition and get crazy sharp edges. And, sharpening knives with it is a fun thing to do.

They probably had that written up the day they went into business.

Be a man and sharpen your own. A monkey can do it.

Chinese junk, like Dalstrong. You and your wife are easily duped by marketing wank, do yourself a favor and buy some real quality kitchen cutlery.

Just about any brand belt sharpener is a life changer. Things are amazing.

What does that have to do with kitchen knives

At least they still sharpen/replace their knives.

Can buy a solid large Japanese-made gyuto for $100. Real Hitachi Blue #2 steel, not Chinese knock-off "Japanese-style" steel. Hair-popping razor sharp out of the box, something worth sharpening as it will really hold an edge.

Just watch some of the non-sponsored reviews of these. It is like the Huusk shite they sell as an outdoor knife.

If you don't want to spend big money on great steel (there is really no need unless you just enjoy nice things) buy Dexter-Russel or Victorinox. They will be much better than the Instagram brands and much cheaper too. There probably isn't a commercial kitchen in the US that doesn't have at least a couple of Dexter-Russel knives in them.

one would think that if you bought them under the "free lifetime sharpening service" period that they would have to honored it...

or refund your purchase...

but I'll defer to the TD Attorneys...

I just bought one and haven’t had time to use yet. Did you purchase any extra bands and do you only run the knife through the recommended 3-4 times per side per band?
