… buy a trailer and plant yourself in the vast expanse of West Texas and live out your days alone?

All I would need is internet access and a car. Maybe some good hiking boots and a liquor store within 20 miles.

I’m doing this. Wife is not coming.

Of course not.

If it's over, it's over, no need to bail out.

Isolation isn’t a good thing for most people. The combination of isolation and booze is worse.

When I read of other’s shortcomings, I want to help (because I KNOW I could).

Pics are required first before further consideration.

If I were single and no kids, sure. But I’d chose a better place than West Texas

I could never walk away from my two little girls. Wife, probably not either. But definitely not my children no matter the circumstances.

Best of luck. Have Chicken send you a box full of TigerDroppings t-shirts, so the rest of us will recognize you if we ever pass that way. We can share a drink.

This is the key question. We talking some funky artists enclave in the Big Bend or a dying town in the Panhandle where the howling wind is all you have to keep you company.

Two weeks ago I went to a dinner with friends/colleagues to discuss upcoming business deals, because I'm a businessman

Anyway, walking into the restaurant, a family was exiting and I held the door open as they were passing by ,
The father had an LSU hat on and I said

hey I know the guy who owns tiger droppings

he's gay

I've been doing that around Houston for like twenty years

A good friend of mine hit 65, retired, and is now the caretaker on a large Northern New Mexico ranch (mountainous AND water with fish). He has no maintenance duties - his "job" is to be a presence there. The owner and his family spend 4-6 weeks in the summer.

He really likes it. He never goes anywhere. The only worry I have is he is at the age where medical issues can start to be issues. He's a long way from the doctor. The owners have him in a nice house, they pay him decent pay considering they pay all the household utilities and he gets a lot of food from them.

He has dogs for company and I don't hear from him very often.
