Credit card rewards for VRBO, AirBNB, and/or flight miles?

Thinking about getting a CC to build some travel rewards.
We usually do Vrbo or Airbnb, hotels as well occasionally.
We don't fly much, but about every 2-3 years we will do a flight vacation.
I don't want anything with an annual fee or points that would expire preferably. I know miles used to expire, is that still the case with some or most? Something with a good sign up bonus would be nice.
Any recs before I start digging through them?

Capital One Venture is 2 points per $1. It adds up very quickly if you use it a lot. We pay for everything with it, then pay off the bill when it's due. They also have a lot of online retailers that can give you 2-10% statement credits. That has come in handy once we learned about it.
It is $100/yr, but you will more than make up for that if you use it regularly.

That the quivalent of 2% cash back I assume?
I've already got some good cash back cards like the citi double cash. Looking to see if something redeems really well for travel alone.

I'd request to move to the money board

Not an expert, but you're going to have an annual fee with nearly anything that transfers to travel partners. Chase Sapphire preferred was my intro card to the points game, has given me some pretty amazing vacations over the years. Money board is your best bet, there is a huge thread there already about the card shuffle.

Chase freedom unlimited pays 5% back on travel, entertainment, and 3% on restaurants.

I like the chase cards and they give you good value. You will have to get one card with an annual fee, however.
Get these:
1. Chase Sapphire Preferred - $95 annual fee. Get 3% on dining, 2% on travel, 5% on travel booked through chase, and a $50 hotel credit when booking through chase.
2. Chase Freedom unlimited - no annual fee. 1.5% points on everything
3. Chase Freedom - no annual fee. Rotating 5% back categories.
Transfer all points to the chase sapphire reserve. Between the 3, you will always be getting at least 1.5% back in points on any money you spend.
Eta: stagger your sign up for each so you can take advantage of each sign up bonus. Also be aware of chases 5/24 rule.

Preferred is $95, Reserve is $550. Comes with alot of bonus benefits but may not be worth it for flying every 2-3 years. I'd go with Preffered and the other 2 you recommended, that's my rotation. You can get as crazy as you want with it and really rack up some points but it's a great starting point

I've already got several cards.
Citi double cash gives me 2% back everywhere.
Citi custom cash gives me 5% on gas anywhere up to 500 month.
Cap one walmart gives me 5% back on walmart pickup orders.
Lowes thst does instant 5% off.
Then I have discover that does 5% on rotating (but it kinda sucks lately).
That's most of what we spend money on and I'm getting minimum 2% back and no annual fees.
Just looking for something that might get me alot of miles or 5% back on lodging, etc.

Ah yes, I meant preferred. I corrected, thanks.

I fly a ton, mostly on American. I got one of their cards last year. Purchases are rewarded with priority on travel-type expenditures like hotels and restaurants, plus there is usually an initial reward of miles within the first few months. I got 60K miles after the first $3000 spent, which was easy because one of my dogs needed surgery.
I've been pretty happy with it. The reward miles are piling up.

Those are all cash back though correct? You can redeem points at a higher value than just cash so even if it looks like 1.5% back with chase, the redeeming power is higher. It’s also even higher if you transfer to some partners, like United, so you have to consider that as well.

I would recommend starting with Chase Sapphire and build up your ultimate rewards. The world is your oyster; especially in 2-player mode (with wife).

Most good rewards have an annual fee but also give you at least a free night to offset it.

The chase seems good, but I just don't know if we travel enough for it to be worth it. Maybe it would be.
Trying to make sure it works with all vrbos and airbnbs. Cause some cards classify that stuff differently. Like some will bill as timeshares, rental property, real estate, campgrounds, etc. And not fit the travel/hotel category.
Also looking at the wells fargo autograph card that claims it will give 3% discount on all vrbos airbnbs, hotels, and campgrounds. Also 3% flights, restaurants, phone bill, etc. No annual fee.
And I don't really have a good restaurant card either.
Not saying the chase isn't a great way to go, just not sure it fits me personally the best.
Some years we may not do anything but go camping and the next we may go to Alaska or St. Johns, etc.

I've been doing Chase for years and had some pretty amazing trips on points (Hyatt FTW), but it doesn't really work with AirBnBs or VRBO unless something has changed that I'm not aware of.
CapitalOne Venture has the points that erase a travel purchase on statement and that probably works better.

Yeah, see, we don't do alot of hotels.
Mainly condo rentals at the beach, or cabins in the mountains, and we camp alot, etc. About the only time we do hotels is if we will be only be staying a night or two.
