I have a very large old cypress tree in the front yard that needs to go.

Any idea what the cost will be?

Recommendations?

How large? Someone might be willing to cut a deal if boards are salvageable.

What that guy said. It isn't what it will cost. It is how much will they pay you for that tree.

About 40' tall with the trunk 6-7' in diameter at the base. I'd be willing to let whoever takes it down have it all if it reduces cost.

I'd like to help you out with a individual, but really have no one.

I know there is a sawmill in Amite, maybe a call to them could help put you in touch with a lumberjack type.

That is what I want to hear. Should I be contacting a tree removal service or a lumber yard? Any recommendations?

Post a pic

6-7 feet diameter is pretty big for today. You don't mean circumference do you?

You could probably sell it for around $1,500 dollars.

May want to slow down a bit there, you could be hurting your property value in a big way.

Why do you want to remove it? If it's as big as you say, it adds value to your property.

I like the tree but it is just too close to the house. There are knees popping up all around the slab and driveway. I'm worried they root system will be damage plumbing as well. If, for whatever reason, it were to fall in the direction of the house it would pretty much split it in half.

Like the tree, just wish it were farther away from the house.
