I thought is was a good set, however his best work by far was The Chapelle Show and I think he is much better at sketch comedy than standup which is more a tribute to his sketch ability than an indictment of the standup. I find his long setup jokes to be rather dry and drawn out compared to the impact of the punchline and too often he telegraphs his punch too much.

Exactly, that's why absolutely no one in the audience laughed or clapped.
People go to a comedy show to laugh.
Go watch the special. He talks about a joke he does that bombs every time and he still does it to basically humor himself. He's starting the joke and can barely get it underway because people are laughing. He starts laughing because these idiots are laughing at nothing

It's a “call-back” that makes the people realize the entire bit.

I have to be honest, I'm not that interested in watching his fifth special/sermon about trannies.
That entire generation of comics is stale. Chapelle and Bill Burr especially have been doing the same thing since 2016.

As for standups specifically, nothing has made me laugh more than Sticks and Stones at the time it came out.

Sticks and Stones was very good. Feels like he's just been playing to that same beat for a long time though.
