No injuries. 200 passengers on board were all evacuated without incident.

The airline tells 11Alive that flight crews were able to evacuate the passengers when "flames in the tailpipe of one of the aircraft's two engines were observed."

ATLANTA — A Delta flight headed to Atlanta caught fire at the Orlando airport on Monday, according to the airline. In total, there were 200 passengers on board, along with 10 flight attendants and two pilots.

Some were likely being shuttled back to the ATL hub and weren't on official duty.

Thankfully it happened on the ground and not mid-flight.

If the captain was a middle aged white male, he'd have been able to glide it into ATL from Valdosta.

Mechanics watching from the hangar - 'told you if you don't install the seal it'd shoot fire out. Believe me now?'

Flight was on an Airbus A330 which is typically used for transatlantic travel. Flight 1213 typically uses Boeing 757s but the A330 was swapped in for today.

I confirmed with Delta that there were 282 passengers onboard, not 200 like initially reported.

Most likely an A330 and they don’t have “tailpipes”

Last time I flew ATL-MCO the 757 was broken and they swapped us to an A350.

The Delta spokesperson referred to it as a tailpipe in their email which I found odd.

Delta will often have wide bodies on the MCO > ATL city pair. Disney drives an ungodly amount of traffic.

Nah this was a mechanical issue. I was jumpseating trying to get to Disney because my kids were there for their HS band thing. I had been struggling all morning to get a jump seat down and the only reason I got on was because there were so many extra seats due to it being booked as a 757 flight. Captain even offered me a first class seat but seeing as I’d never been upfront in an A350 and it was only an hour or so flight I elected to ride on the flight deck. Captain happened to be a LSU grad so that was cool.
