Did anyone else completely miss the Church’s Chicken rebrand…

to Church’s Texas Chicken?
Apparently outside of the US it’s just known as Texas Chicken and the rebrand happened in 2019. Just noticed on some of the new commercials during the game last weekend.

Has any country made them register their biscuits as deadly weapons yet?

I noticed it during a commercial recently.

I have never eaten at a Church's... when I was a little kid I remember asking my mom why we never got chicken there. She told me that the last time she got chicken there she opened the box and found a maggot.
Pretty much ruined it for life.

My first job (other than agricultural stuff) was working at Church's Chicken. At the time, they had fantastic fried peach pies. The slaw was also top notch. Then, they changed vendors and the peach pies sucked and the cole slaw was weak.

Church's is the most garbage chicken I've ever eaten. Brothers in New Orleans sadly blows it out of the water.

i noticed that today as well, i saw the color changes but never paid attention to the new rebranding signs.
do you know if they unwound the popeyes churches merger and separated them again, or is it just a name change only?

In college in Athens I lived across the street from a Church's Chicken for a couple years. The chicken wasn't great but the biscuits were 100% best of all the chicken places. Every time I went in there, I was the only white person. And it was like a record scratch moment where everyone stopped and got quiet like I was an undercover FBI agent. It was weird. But those biscuits. Damn.

It’ll always have a special place in my heart because it was usually the only place to get fried chicken on base. Just about every PX had a place

not even close, mash potatoes are crap
now their gravy is something worth going out of your way for, same for their apple pies, but the rest of their shite is worse than meh and the biscuits are so dry you can barely choke that trash down

When I worked at Church's, there was generally a manager and 2-3 high school kids (including me) on duty. Brown polyester shiny pants, the puke yellow Church's shirt, and the awful hat. The best looking girl at the local high school (a Senior) came by some Saturday mornings. In the summer, it was Daisy May's which showed off her perfect, tanned legs. Not all the h.s. guys fully appreciated her, but she was far and away the best looking. She ended up marrying some "tough customer" in New Orleans and still lives in New Orleans.
Seeing any type of hot girl at that Church's was a miracle.

When I worked there, there were no mashed potatoes - just fries and cole slaw. The co-manager was this old woman who made us "pinch the bottom" of the french fry bags to make them look full when they weren't. She also slipped one day on a soapy floor and her dentures popped loose. When we laughed, she made us stand in the corner for ten minutes.

Most Church's Chicken aficionados seem to be huge, oversized Dallas Cowboys fans.

Church’s in Athens used to have the best sweet tea on earth.
