Did the Catholic Church hide pedophiles?

This is what someone I know is saying they did. Did they really move around priests who they knew diddled little boys? Something about one of the popes being in on it? Sorry I don’t know much about this, I’m not catholic

The Church definitely hid what was going on. They moved the priests from one church to another Church in a different state. Why do you think they changed the name of Bishop Sullivan to St. Michael?
