Do you check your eggs to see if they float?

My hubby is a firm believer that floating eggs are bad and should be thrown out. I’m not so sure that it means a thing.
Do you eat floating eggs?

I don't think I have ever seen an egg float... Do you mean to the top of the water line or stand on end?

your husband is a dumbass. he really fills up the sink or something and checks if every egg floats?

Your hubby is correct. Floating eggs are bad. Eggs that sink and lay on their side are good. Eggs that sink, but stand up on one end are edible but still getting close to the point of no return.
Yeah, it's a thing.

Checked my eggs this past weekend to see if they floated since they were past carton expiration date.

Cringe.
Who the hell takes the time to check their eggs? I can only remember one time where I cracked an egg only to discover that it was rotten, and I cook eggs every morning.

Funny. I had this happen to me just yesterday. My kid picked up some duck eggs from a farmers market. I boiled two. One float, the other did not.
Hard boiled them both. Sliced them and ate them with a sandwich. I couldn't tell a difference. Both had an air pocket in them. Not sure why one floated and the other did not.

I do this too if I know I’ve had a carton for a while. Saw it years ago on some science site.

I just crack the egg open and cook it like a normal human.

This is the only time I check them. If we're within the date, I don't worry about it.

I’m going to agree with this.
