Does anyone have any experience with Sagesure insurance?

My homeowners renewal just more than doubled to an obscene amount with National General. Sagesure's quote is much better.

Is Sagesure legit and is this a bait and switch type situation where they will just double my premium next year?

They did that to us. We went to USAA. I fully expect an increase next year.

I had Sagesure for several years with no issue, I was quoted a better rate with StateFarm so I left. I did not have to make any claims while insured by Sagesure, but their rates weren't really bad.

I used to have Federated National through SageSure until they folded. No major issues with them in covering Ida damage.

I now have homeowners through SureChoice Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (SURE) on SageSure. I haven't had to make a claim, yet, so hoping it's not a problem down the line, but not really a lot of options out there.

Had Sagesure during Ida. They sent out a reputable adjuster to assess my claim and he did a very thorough job. Missed a few small items that my public adjuster caught (in addition to their normal fluff) and SageSure paid very quickly for the things they believed they owed. I was very happy with the process and stayed with them when they "changed companies", to or from Sure.

After Ida my policy went up around 20%, but that was largely driven by the fact that they reevaluated my Coverage A. Their adjustment was overinflated, and they agreed to a 20% reduction with no hassle. But, they were correct in the fact that it needed to be increased; we just took issue with by how much

My SageSure premiums over the last few years.

2022 - 1600 (first year with them and bought my house)
2023 - 2400
2024 - 2500
(new roof April 2024)
2025 - 2600

Their claim process is very easy and my deductibles are very reasonable.

Yeah, seems like quite a few insurers have upped their premiums over the last few years. A buddy of mine has a home with roughly the same value as mine but his is 12.5 miles further south than me. He was quoted double my premium with the same insurer.

I also had FedNat through Sagesure until they closed up shop. Sagesure offered me coverage through SURE at like 2.5x what I was paying so I shopped around and Allstate was the only company that would write for me in St. Tammany.

I've had Occidental thru Sagesure since 2017. In 2020 rate was $2000, after Ida it went to $3000. This year its $4200. Compared to mother quotes I've gotten its still cheapest. My Ida claim was about $75000 and their adjuster and claims department were very good. No problems or delays.

I've represented Sage for years and they've been my go to for my customers.. rates are good and never had issues on the claims end.. They survived 2020 collapse so that's always a plus..
