So will be getting the MRS a new suv this summer and a coworkers wife can get us a good deal on a Mazda.

Don't know shite about Mazda, any input?

Pretty much all SUV in the same size class are in the running.

I have a high opinion of the brand. It's kind of an upper-middle-tier Japanese car, like a Subaru. Don't know about the CX9 specifically.

I seen one today, nice looking vehicle. I like the way they look, I know Consumer Reports rates them pretty high for whatever that is worth.

The only complaint you’ll consistently read about the CX9 is that the third row is laughably useless. Otherwise, it gets top marks in driving dynamics.

I have one. It's pretty nice. It was upgrade from my Honda Pilot, though the 3rd row is smaller if that is something you're concerned with. Of the 40-50k 3rd row SUV's I was looking at, I'd say it was #3 behind Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride.

The mid size Mazda suv is held in high regard and has beat the rav4 in its class the last few years

I owned a 2000 model 626 for a few years after college before I could afford a decent truck. I think I bought it with around 20k miles on it and drove it until it had around 150k. Never had any issues with it other than the headliner falling down. Sold it to my father in law for my much younger sister in law. She drove it until she graduated from high school and they sold it to a cousin that drove it through high school as well.

I’ve got a 2013 CX9 and have had zero issues outside of the power windows going out in both front doors.

Engine wise it has been solid and it handles great.

At about 135k miles right now.

I had 626 years ago. The car was great and the Mazda (Corp) customer service was best I've ever experienced.

I have had the car for a long time. It's great, really no complaints except that it takes a little long to accelerate. If you're in New Orleans area, Paretti Mazda is a first-class operation.

It feels like a luxury vehicle for a non-luxury price.

Yea the Palisade is the one the wife likes, screw paying over MSRP for a Kia even though they are nice.

Buddies wife has the Volkswagen which is nice but not sure about reliability and they are expensive if shite breaks. Same with Audi.

Mazdas are great. Interior fit and finish are top notch.

We considered both. I thought the Mazda drove a little more spunky. The Hyundai people were impossible to deal with and played all kinds of games. Eventually went with the highlander because I knew my 9 year old could eventually drive it .

If the Mazda would’ve been a touch bigger in the third row we probably would’ve gone with that considering we’re a family of 5.

The Mazda CX-9 from 2018 to present is awesome. The turbo engine is quick, it handles great, and it looks sleek.

Fun to drive, especially for an SUV. Get an AWD.
