After consulting the Urban Dictionary and finding out exactly what “packing cigarettes” means, I’d suggest this thread be moved to the A&M Board.

So you smoke on occasion and have no clue to the effects of packing cigarettes?

I don't smoke but I think this one is pretty obvious.

Pack an American Spirit Black and you'll make one cig last half an hour.

Smoking cigs is trashy. Just vape instead.

They don't last longer but they burn evenly.

I quit smoking ten years ago but I used to pack my cigarettes all the time.

I think the habit of packing started when pre-rolled cigarettes first came about. Some brands might tamp down the tobacco more loosely than others. Packing tightens this up.

And helps them to burn more evenly, thus ensuring a more enjoyable smoking experience.

I haven't had a smoke in several years, but I know that "packing" cigarettes just knocks out valuable tobacco.

Tightly packing the loose cut tobacco more evenly distributes it thus creating that classic tight ash and even round glow.
