No, it doesn't work. People just like filling bags and carrying them around and shite.

Should work if used in conjunction with a tarp or visqueen. You're still gonna get some penetration though

They used sandbags to build the structure, but had to dig a hole in the low spot of the "dry " yard, and constantly monitor and bilge/trash pump out the seepage back over to the wet side of the berm.

We use aqua dams every day at work and they can hold back 8 to 10 feet of water. They are the shite.

Short term, sand bags and bilge pumps work. Long term, the water pressure outside the berm is forced up from through the saturated ground, sometimes up into the concrete foundation.

Sandbagging around doors only will not work. Water can get in through wee holes on the slab or if you siding or stucco it will get behind that to get into a house. The only way sandbags work is if they are completely around the house and high enough to keep water out.

Yes, done correctly, you can protect a house with a sand bag berm and a couple water pumps.

98% of sandbagging is useless as I've seen it done. Doing it correctly is a huge undertaking. Look at those Aqua dam pics but do it w sandbags. Dig collection ponds and drain leakage to those. Man pumps day and night
