Good for her. She tried to bring change and was critical of Narcisse. I guess she finally got tired of everyone's bullshite, realized it was a hopeless waste of time, and "peaced out"

Wonder if there is more to this.
She quit pretty quickly. You can’t effect change by quitting

No...but you can come to the realization that there are just too many assholes blocking you from trying to affect the change. She was in office 7 months. That is enough time to realize how broken EBR schools are and that she was fighting a battle she couldn't win alone vs an incompetent superintendent and fellow board members who have personal agendas.

Sounds like that woman who went to change the failing schools in DC only for her to quit because all of the education leaders made it impossible for her. They didn't really want change.

That's why no one worth a damn doesn't run for anything, no one wants to deal with that shite.
School boards in La should do like they do in Texas. Don't pay them. Then you are more likely to get people who have no self interest and likely cares a little more.

Awesome, she now has a ton of influence or ability to put the brakes on the rest of the board. Oh wait.

Easy cop out, you knew what you were signing up for.

A little anticlimactic. She should have posted a manifesto.

So you've never signed up for something you weren't 100% sure about, but thought it might be worth a shot, then realize that it was more fricked up than you ever could have imagined?

The resl question is will she re evaluate her commitment to the Democrat party now that she sees how it's run 1st hand (small scale) and at least go Independent

So she gave up and left the kids at the mercy of this school board.

She should print out the email, have it notarized, and submit it.

I wouldn’t do a single thing. You got my notice. Keep paying me until you get around to firing me.

Yes because the school board pay is how they get rich from being on it

Ours get $800/month. I’m not sure that really influences anyone.

Maybe so, I know that the Washington Parish school board approved raises for some of the people at the school board but nothing for anyone else, and that’s what got things going up here. A couple days last week we would get a message about contact your bus driver and breakfast and lunch would still be available, Friday morning at 6:02 the message pretty much said keep your kids at home.

So I don’t know how it came out but I’d imagine it was something like this:
1. Katie comes up with one really smart idea. Presents it to school board and they shite all over it.
2. Katie comes up with one really smart second idea. Presents to school board and they shite all over it.
3. Katie says “I gotta get the frick out of here…”
