A former colleague of mine, a VP-of-Engineering level guy, interviewed with Theranos before the controversy erupted. He's a real straight-shooter who has the respect of everyone who works for him. He interviewed with Holmes, and his impression of her was that she was "fricking nuts." He could see right through her. You can't use your hand-waving bullshite on an engineer. It's amazing she was able to fool people for so long.

Even more intriguing, I found out last year another former colleague of mine, who is a lawyer specializing in IP, was one of Theranos' internal lawyers. I haven't spoken to him but another friend had lunch with him (while he was still employed by Theranos) and said the guy couldn't/wouldn't say anything. With all the potential legal shite still happening, it may be a while before we can pour some beer down his throat and get him to talk.
