Anybody have kids or know of anyone that has opinions on the boarding aspect of the school?
Considering sending our 15yo there soon.
TIA

LOL…he’s made some bad choices.
He needs a better Catholic school experience.

That was the case when my parents sent my little brother there 20 years ago. Of course he got kicked out for smoking weed...

Way back in the day*, if your kid misbehaved and he was smart, you sent him to St Paul’s. If he was dumb, he became a Rock-A-Chaw.
That’s all I got.
*Back when St Paul’s boarded.

Found your problem right here. Why you people still accepting this cult that ruins so many little boys for life?

Went to private school in BTR in the 80s. That was my XP. It was the kids that got kicked out that went to SS. That said I have had some friends over the years that either went there or sent their kids there and most said it was all in all a positive. Nothing recent though.

Really? That’s a stupid take

I know a couple of parents that sent kids there. One straightened up and is now a nice young man who has a good career in the military. The other came back home and fell right back in with his former crowd.

If you want your son to be an LSU QB for near a decade it’s a great choice

They have an EXTREMELY involved alumni base. Almost weird but not quite.

Had a friend that went there, always told crazy stories about a Brother "Malcolm".
He turned out ok but we didn't see him for a whole year.

It’s an excellent school. Wether your son is a boarding student or a traditional student, he will get a great education. Brother Barry is one of the finest men I know.

I had friends that went there in the early 90s. Back then there was plenty of opportunity for a kid to get into drugs, etc. Not sure what is like now.

I went there from 7th grade to graduation. Wasn’t a problem student. At the time St. Stanislaus was one of two private high schools on the Coast, and St. John was going down the shitter. They gave me a great education and they genuinely care about their students.
