I have read that the tree cutting business is one of the most dangerous occupations out there.
One of the YouTube channels I follow just announced yesterday that one of the regulars was killed when a 10' section of tree came down while he was making his cuts on the ground. His name was Jed Walters that was on Jake's Guilty Of Treeson channel. Had many years of experience but missed the hanger as there was 2 trees leaning on the one he was cutting.
Prayers out to the families, loved ones & all those involved.

Wow, hate to hear that.
All it takes is one mistake. Way too many folks think 'they got this' because they have used a chain-saw for years only to find themselves severely injured or even killed.
I now pay a professional tree service company to cut down the trees in my yard. I pretty much have all the trees around my house cut down.
But a couple of months ago I was cutting some downed limbs with my chain saw and I just barely nipped my pants leg with my chain saw.
I was very fortunate that it just caught my pants leg. So thank God for that.
And no, I was not wearing chain saw chaps.
The best chain saw chaps I believe for the average Joe is the Husqvarna ones. I got my from Lowes for about $93.
The unfortunate accident that happened in the OP got me thinking and doing a some Internet searching.
Check out this page about chainsaw injuries and where they most occur on a body:
