Father's day gift.....

I'm celebrating Father's Day by purchasing myself a smoker. I'm new to smokers, so don't need a monster one. I'm looking at Recteq. I just love those bull horn handles!
Any advice or suggestions?

I was given a Pit Boss smoker/gas grill combo a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I haven’t smoked on it yet, but the grill is great and I have plans to smoke a Boston Butt next weekend

We love our Recteq. Highly recommend. Use it all year long.

You’re gonna use it once and it’s gonna rust out on your porch after that

Been very happy with my Traeger. I hear Recteq is better quality than the more recent Traeger’s though. Enjoy it!

The Pit Boss grabbed my attention because of the easy grilling option.

That's my plan. All year use. I'm excited to expirament with different recipes, etc

Well, I will keep it covered. I sure hope it doesn't rust too fast

2? Well, I'm starting small (the 590?) To make sure I have that passion before getting too crazy

BawtHouse, I read the same thing. That Recteq is made better. Also, I don't love the story of how Traeger was tricked out of his own company.
With quality and those badass bull horn handles, I'm going recteq

If you go this route, you will end up with one big one and the small PoS you are thinking about getting. Go big or go home.

Well I am lazy so I have a Masterbilt electric smoker with 3 racks. Here are the things I have learned:
1. Use a large disposable aluminum pan on the second shelf to catch
drippings and save some cleanup effort.
2. Use the same type pan on third shelf for your water/juice mixture. That
little container they give you for water is inadequate. Add more chips to
their water container if needed.
3. Those pork boneless country style ribs are just perfect for smoking.
4. Definitely use injectors for pork tenderloins the day before cooking.
5. Stubbs spicy barbeque sauce is my favorite.

What does "go big" mean?
Do you recommend a brand and model?
