Anybody got this text message from GeauxPass Toll Roads. I knew right away that something was fishy when it said Golden Meadow on the toll charge, haven't been that way in years. I called the number, and it specifically says that this is a scam.

Does your wife have a "friend" down that way?

Saw some posts on Reddit about it. Believe in the message Geaux was spelled Geus or something like that. Usually always a few warning signs like that.

Just got the scam text message this morning.

Same as you, I knew it was a scam bc I haven’t been to Golden Meadow in forever.

I reported and deleted the message

Got it this morning. It is probably related to the DMV hack a few years ago. Everyone in Louisiana has been compromised.

The Causeway sent out this e-mail:

Scammers are sending fraudulent messages which seem to be bills from the state's Geaux Pass tolling system. Please delete, Geaux Pass never sends any messages/ billing regarding a Lake Pontchartrain Causeway toll account. If your Causeway toll account ever has a problem/becomes pass due, we will contact you directly by telephone and/or send a letter Via the U.S. Post Office.

Sincerely,
Carlton Dufrechou
