My problem with this specifically is that is was readily available at the trial to the defense and at some point to the public, so it might not be as much of a slam dunk as ignoring toxicology on cause of death could likely be.
I didn’t get to follow trial outside of summaries and not threads here, but I remember thinking I did not really see enough info on what ambulance crew did and observed on way to hospital or at hospital. That was significant due to one of the cops saying he could not find a pulse or something like that.

To anyone knowledgeable on sickle cell trait:
Should being chocked out to the point of causing death and that corresponding lack of oxygen caused at least a small amount of antemortem sickling and/or splenic infarcts in the spleen? If not on its own would adding the stress of drug fueled mania and physical struggles resisting arrest then increase chances of these occurring?
I am just aware of longer issues involving someone with the trait only like a football player playing a game in Denver having sickling triggered more than acute instances.

Floyd died from drugs in his system. This happens fairly often where someone is hopped up and is tazed, or is in a physical confrontation with police, and the added stress and physical exertion mixed with the drugs is a lethal dose. The video is the only reason Chauvin was found guilty. They weren’t going to let him off evidence be damned.
