If you live in New Orleans and let your car's brake tag expire, now might be the time to get back on the right side of the law. A fee amnesty program lets residents avoid brake tag late fees through Nov. 30. However, Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration is poised to begin "active enforcement" of brake tags for vehicles parked on public streets on Tuesday, a spokesperson said.

Feel free to murder, mug and carjack all you want, but don’t be caught without a brake tag!

Basically stop and frisk.

Criminal defense attorney Gary Wainwright, hated by police, has euro plates front and back for over a year.

frick brake tags/inspection stickers.

Im serious. I pretty much get my van inspected every 6 months (sometimes I go 8-10 months) at the place the installed driving equipment. Everything is checked, its part of the safety procedure, it is 100% pointless yet I pretty much have to go pay to get a sticker put on.

Got a ticket for it years ago. Enforcing brake tags/inspection stickers makes me irrationally mad.

You're sorely mistaken if you think thugs are the demographic they're targeting with this. This is nothing more than fleecing people they know will pay the fine so someone can embezzle it.

Yeah, the fine is an inconvenience.

If you have a warrant or similar then the stop is worth it.

You inadvertently are two times correct-

You are both irrational and mad.

PS: I’m glad you can pick and choose which laws you want to obey.

Sounds like a wonderful game plan, stick with it Chris.

To anyone that lives and/or works in New Orleans and is thinking of making the jump elsewhere and leaving that shithole behind forever: please do so. You will be much happier.
